Our Parish Family

Our parish brings together people from more than 30 different nationalities and cultures, reflecting the richness and diversity of the Catholic Church. Together we gather to celebrate Mass, pray, learn, serve our neighbours and grow in faith, supporting one another through every season of life.

Our Journey

1900’s

A parish is born

The first St Mary's Church was founded at the beginning of the twentieth century on West Quay Road, serving the growing Catholic community in Poole.

1958

St Anthony's Opens

As Broadstone expanded after the Second World War, St Anthony of Padua Church was opened to serve the growing Catholic population, creating a vibrant community of faith.

1973

A New Home for St Mary's

The present-day St Mary's Church was built, becoming one of the largest parish churches in the Diocese of Plymouth and the seat of the Bishop.

2023

celebrating 50 years

St Mary's celebrated its Golden Jubilee, giving thanks for fifty years of worship, service and community in its present church building.
