Canon John Webb
Parish PriestFather John has served as a diocesan priest for 40 years and has been parish priest of St Mary’s for the past 11 years. Before coming to St Mary’s, he worked full time in prison ministry. He also serves as a school and hospital chaplain. Alongside his parish ministry, he is the Dean of Dorset. He leads the parish with faith, kindness and pastoral care, welcoming all who come through its doors.

Deacon Nick Johnson
Permanent DeaconNick spent most of his working life in personal social services, retaining an interest in Adult Safeguarding. He is married to Ann and has one son, Patrick. He has a lively involvement in Diocese and parish activities and is currently the Interim Director of Permanent Deacons in Plymouth Diocese

Deacon Robin Watson
Permanent DeaconRobin moved to the parish after meeting his wife and has since worked in various roles across the private and public sectors. He enjoys being part of such a welcoming and supportive parish. Robin works alongside Fr John and fellow deacons Declan and Nick. Together with the whole parish, they serve everyone who comes through our doors—and those yet to do so!

Deacon Declan McConville
Permanent DeaconDeclan has spent most of his working career in adult mental health provision and healthcare chaplaincy. He is married to Isobel, our music group leader, and has a transgender daughter, Jazmin.

Eunice Masters
Parish SecretaryEunice has been a member of the parish since 1976 and has been part of the Parish Secretary team since 2008. A friendly and welcoming face in the parish office, she is always ready to help.

Liz Newman
Head of Parish Vision TeamLiz has been a member of St Mary’s parish community for nearly 50 years, and her four children attended St Mary’s and St Edward’s schools. With a background in children’s social services, she is actively involved in many aspects of parish life. She currently helps guide the work of the Parish Vision Team and also supports Children’s Liturgy.
