Mary, Martha and Lazarus – Friends of Jesus

On 29 July, the Church celebrates the Memorial of Saints Martha, Mary and Lazarus, dear friends of Jesus who welcomed Him into their home in Bethany.

Each of them reflects a different way of living the Christian life: Martha through faithful service, Mary through attentive prayer and listening, and Lazarus through his witness to the life-giving power of Christ. Together they remind us that every vocation—whether serving, praying or simply living as a faithful disciple—has its place in God's family.

As we celebrate their feast, may we open our hearts to Christ with the same love and hospitality they showed Him.
