Sea Sunday - Praying for Those Who Work at Sea
This Sunday, the Catholic Church marks Sea Sunday, a day when we give thanks for the dedication and sacrifice of seafarers, fishers and all who work at sea.
Around 90% of the world's goods travel by sea, yet the people behind this vital work often spend many months away from their families, facing isolation, dangerous conditions and uncertainty. On Sea Sunday, we remember them in our prayers and support the work of Stella Maris, the Catholic charity that offers practical, emotional and spiritual care to seafarers and fishers around the world.
As a parish, let us pray for everyone whose lives and livelihoods depend on the sea, asking God to keep them safe, strengthen their families and bring them home in peace.
